  • MissyBelle - AWESOME ASSISTIVE DEVICE--I HIGHLY RECOMMEND FOR FREEDOM OF MOVEMENT IN THE HOME OR COMMUNITY

I am a 49 year old female with Rheumatoid Arthritis. My background is in Physical Therapy and I taught PT prior to retirement 4 years ago. I have had 4 ankle surgeries as a result of the secondary problems of RA. I discovered this assistive device by accident when I was researching rolling walkers, shower chairs, etc. after I broke my foot and was awaiting foot reconstruction surgery. The iWalkHandsFree2.0 is the best designed device I have ever used and I am kind of an amateur expert at trying new things. I have experienced more freedom and can finally be mobile in places I cannot get with a walker! I have good balance and have always been fit but it still took me a couple of weeks post surgery to really get skilled on the device. It will accommodate a regular cast. It will also work with a postop cast BUT if the cast comes up too high and comes to the knee joint then the cast may irritate the hamstrings on the back of the thigh. The device still works great even with a post op cast. The walking is the same as if you are an amputee. It is important to play with your straps and get them good and tight. This will keep the "play" or "extraneous movement" down while you walk on it. It is meant to fit as if it is part of your body. Important Note: i discovered that I didn't have to take it off when going to the bathroom. I just loosen my straps(closest to their attachment when I put the leg on) on the hip and kick it out a little and sit. You can hold up on the knee area if it feels uncomfortable or you feel like it is pulling. Higher toilets are better obviously but it doesn't matter. On inclines always lead UP with your good leg and then the device. On declines lead down with the iWalk then the good leg. Hip hiking and sometimes circumduction are a must when clearing the leg when walking. Going up and down steps uses the same principle. DO NOT GET IN A HURRY and you will be fine. After bt 2-3 weeks, I went from crabwalking at times when going on rougher terrain in my yard to being confident and just stepping on uneven terrain with the device and then putting my good foot forward next. This is a well made, sturdy piece of equipment and if I ever have to purchase another or retread the sole of the "foot" I will do it in a heart beat. You will be stopped by people on the street that want to know more by the iWalk and they always say "I wish I had that when I had foot surgery last year!"haha! You can test your limits of balance and stability and the confidence will come!!! AWESOME PRODUCT!!!

  • Nora - Amazing

Books 1-3 was amazingly beautiful. I lived the struggles, lies, cheating and coming on top. Tiny is a true meaning of what survival is. Can't wait to read more books from this a author.
